Barcelona : views and vibes

There are endless Barcelona rooftops to choose from that all offer something different so we made a list of the best Barcelona Rooftops (in our opinion) to see the city from the sky - for the best vibes and stunning views of the city. Take your evening to new heights baby.

A sun-drenched hang out in the cool art district of Poblenou. Open all day, you can eat tacos from Tope, their Mexican rooftop restaurant, or grab a drink (highly recommend the G&Ts) from the bar and hang out pool side all evening soaking up the pink hued sunsets whilst the DJ plays cool music into the night. The 360° panoramic views from up here are stunning.

Located on the 23rd floor of the stunning Nobu hotel, just outside of the city centre, you’ll find panoramic views of both the city and the sea, complete with a beautiful rooftop pool and cool bar area. The aesthetics here are stunning, with patterned cabanas and dusty pink loungers surrounded by a carefully curated selection of potted plants - think Marrakesh meets Barcelona. We also found that this is definitely a hotspot for cool and stylish locals - a very sociable crowd on the right day. Not a super central location, but worth the hype.

A Mediterranean terrace on the 10th floor of The Barcelona EDITION, offering another spot for stunning panoramic views of the city. Decorated with wooden parquet, plush sofas and sun beds in soft hues, the terrace here is charming and aesthetic - complete with aromatic plants and a vibrant bougainvillea contribute to the dimly lit garden atmosphere in the sky.  It’s a secluded space which feels like a private garden party : chat to locals and tourists alike while hanging around the small urban outdoor pool with a spritz. For colder days, the glass sliding walls come to a close, so its the perfect year-round rooftop.

Head here for the views alone. Found at the top of the Grand Hotel Central, complete with a breathtaking infinity pool and impressive views of the city, this spot might be the best rooftop in Barcelona. With limited access for non-guests (from 8 pm), this place definitely has an exclusive feel to it but once you’re up there, relax on sofas and lounge chairs, sip on cocktails and soak up the serene and chilled out atmosphere. The sunsets here are magical.

In the heart of Barcelona, just off Passeig de Gràcia Boulevard, this stunning indoor/outdoor rooftop, complete with a chilled out lounge area, pool and 360° views, had us sipping their gin cocktails all night long. It’s a relaxed vibe, with chilled music which really sets the tone for the night and makes you not want to leave.

Rambla de Catalunya, 26, Eixample, 08007 Barcelona, Spain

A romantic garden above the city with beautiful 360° views of Barcelona. Inspired by the Barcelona of the 20’s, this multi level rooftop is filled with secret corners where you’ll find ponds, a pool, pergolas, over fifty varieties of plants, a haute cuisine restaurant and a solarium - there’s a lot going on.  In warm months, book online and catch an outdoor movie night (with all-you-can-eat popcorn), yoga, pilates or you can even just go for brunch. If you're looking for a magical place to end the day, there is almost nothing as spectacular as being here at sunset.

Ohla Barcelona boutique hotel combines minimalist interiors with a sun kissed rooftop pool and tapas joint - it’s a hotel with soul. Head up to the eighth floor, where you’ll find one of the city’s hidden treasures: a rooftop terrace. Another oasis right in the heart of the city centre looking out at the Barcelona Cathedral and with an excellent 180° panoramic view of the south of the city. In the evenings, DJs play soulful music whilst you sip on cocktails and eat a selection of the best tapas from La Passohla.

Via Laietana, 49, Ciutat Vella, 08003 Barcelona, Spain

The place where the cool cats of Barcelona unite and sip on Picantes all year round. The aesthetic is stunning and the Soho House signature striped cabanas around the rooftop pool really elevate the whole vibe - in the summer months, the atmosphere here is electric. Catch a Sound Sessions here for a chilled music vibe or for a groovier time, most nights DJ’s play 10/10 tunes up here all night with stunning views over the city.

Pl. del Duc de Medinaceli, 4, Ciutat Vella, 08002 Barcelona, Spain

Right in the heart of the city, on top of the 5-star hotel Mandarin Oriental Barcelona you’ll find Terrat: a magical 360° roof terrace, Peruvian restaurant and large, luxurious rooftop pool. If you are searching for great views, rooftop swimming pools and good food in a romantic setting, this is the perfect roof terrace in Barcelona.

Just minutes walk from Casa Batlló, the Dolce Vitae bar is the best spot for a smooth sangria. In the summer months, you can take a dip between sips, and listen to DJs mixing on the sun deck well into the night. Their ‘minimalist Versailles' styles interior, acres of marble, neo-classical columns and grand staircases are the star of the show on the way up.

Pg. de Gràcia, 68, Terraza, 10ª Planta, Eixample, 08007 Barcelona, Spain

Located just a block from the Basilica of the Sagrada Familia, this is the top spot if you want to see jaw-dropping views of the the Sagrada Familia from a different perspective - one of the world's most photographed monuments (apparently). The terrace is very sleek and minimalistic, with only a few bar stools right at the edge of the terrace, and some comfortable lounge furniture dotted around so the space is never over crowded. It feels like a private viewing of the city from above. This terrace is unsurprisingly one of the most Instagrammable spots in the city, and beyond the basilica, the terrace offers panoramic 360° views of beautiful Barcelona. This spot is definitely a more intimate vibe - we think it would be perfect for date night.

C/ del Rosselló, 390, L'Eixample, 08025 Barcelona, Spain

Mood Rooftop Bar offers impressive views, once again complete with an infinity and insane views of the city. The decor here is super chic and is the perfect place to relax in a calmer atmosphere whilst the music matches the mood, mixing jazz and hip-hop for a soulful vibe. The views of the Mediterranean Sea, the Barcelona skyline and the iconic Sagrada Família from up here are worth it.

C/ de Provença, 277, L'Eixample, 08037 Barcelona, Spain

Found at 1881 per SAGARDI, this is a spacious terrace with an extensive cocktail menu and panoramic views over the port of Barcelona. During the evenings there is usually a live DJ playing tunes on the terrace, so if you are looking for funky vibes, head to the harbour for the best views and aperitifs.

Plaça de Pau Vila, 3, Ciutat Vella, 08039 Barcelona, Spain

Salts is a terrace bar located in the municipal swimming pools of Montjuic - a super cool location which was the headquarters of the diving events at the Barcelona 92 Olympics. It isn’t super touristy (yet) and has some insane views of the city.
