BUCKLE STREET STUDIOS

Tucked away East London, Buckle Street Studios is an innovative and inspiring space designed for creative individuals and artists. The design and concept of the studio reflect a fusion of modern aesthetics and functionality, catering to the diverse needs of the artistic community.

CHECKING-IN

Buckle Street Studios has a sleek and contemporary architectural design, with its clean lines, large windows and high ceilings combining elements of glass, steel and concrete; this modern exterior sets the tone for the creative environment within.

Greeted by a spacious and vibrant lobby, the interior incorporates an industrial-chic style with polished concrete floors, use of natural materials and minimalist decor elements; all adding to the studio's urban and artistic atmosphere. We have stayed here multiple times as the vibes are always immaculate and we love a London staycation - the playlist is always on point and the signature scent (salted caramel and vanilla - which you can buy from their store by the way) creates an unmatched sensory experience, this place really is a hidden gem.

ROOMS

The design of the rooms follows a contemporary and minimalist style, with neutral colour palettes, clean lines and elegant furnishings to create a sense of calm away from the hustle and bustle of London City.

We always stay in a studio, mainly because they have a small, fully equipped kitchen area. Pair that with a corner sofa, flat screen TV, equally stylish bedrooms, rainforest showers and plenty of natural light, it feels like a home from home. We will warn you now, that you won’t want to leave the room for the entirety of the stay (we have been known to do this once or twice).

Depending on your room allocation, the views from the floor-to-ceiling windows can vary between Skyscraper views of The Shard and London City or the more urban views of Aldgate and East London, both equally adding to the artistic and inspiring hotel design.

AMENITIES

ART

The common areas within Buckle Street Studios are the ideal setting for artists and creative individuals like ourselves. Designed to foster a sense of community and collaboration there are cool lounge areas, communal workspaces and dedicated exhibition spaces where artists can meet, exchange ideas and showcase their work.

The studio management also organises regular events, workshops and exhibitions you can attend to promote artistic growth and engagement within the community or you can work from the mezzanine all day, sit in a cosy booth or record a podcast in their studio, they have it all.

FITNESS

If you need a workout,  their sister hotel Leman Locke is just across the road so guests can take full advantage of their basement gym for free. Just remember your keycard to swipe in and get a sweat on.

INSIDE INTEL

The only downside for us is that check-in is super late, one thing they’re missing is flexi-check-in which would make this place practically perfect. You can check in earlier but it’ll cost you and even then, the earliest time is 2pm. However, they have a super 24-hour concierge service and a comfy seated lobby to hang out in if you need to wait.

Only a 10-minute walk to Brick Lane, Shoreditch High Street and Sky Garden, this location is perfect if you’re in East. If you need to get around though, Aldgate and Liverpool Street underground stations are the closest tube stations which take you straight into central or wherever you need to be.
