London : views and vibes

London | The Best Rooftops

See the city from the sky, brought to you by the best rooftops in London (in our opinion) for all the vibes and stunning views of London town.  So here’s our list on how to take your evening to new heights baby.

First up, our favourite Soho House in the UK where the cool cats of the city unite and sip on Picantes all year round. The aesthetic is stunning and the heated pool really tops off the whole vibe - in the summer months, the atmosphere here is electric. Catch a Sound Sessions here all year round for rooftop party vibes with stunning views over the city.

At 7.30pm non residents head straight to the Berkeley - the most beautiful rooftop in London in our opinion. The pool area is so sleek and chic and the views across London from its Knightsbridge vantage point (especially when the sun is setting) are stunning. Sit pool-side with a glass of the bar’s signature sangria and take it all in. This is the only London rooftop pool that isn’t a Soho House either so definitely check it out.

The Rooftop at One Hundred

This urban LA-style haunt is a newish addition to the London rooftop scene - its basically a playful and vibrant hangout. The rooftop decor is pink marble and terrazzo combined with an outdoor terrace and panoramic views over East London - the whole vibe is giving Palm Springs. Sip on a signature margarita whilst some of London’s biggest DJs raise the atmosphere to a higher level.

100 Shoreditch High St, London E1 6JQ

A semi-secret courtyard oasis that sits above Sessions Art Club in the heart of Clerkenwell. This intimate terrace offers the perfect hideaway for long summer days and evenings with a focus on art, food and music. The club is an urban sanctuary that has a private feel—a sort of haven to escape from the hustle of city life. The aesthetic of the restaurant design can be best described as a deteriorating mansion with a one-of-a-kind space leading up to a stylish rooftop complete with marble tables, an infinity pool and panoramic views over the city. The whole vibe is very decadent and sexy.

Shoreditch is our favourite London hang out, so there’s not surprise that Boundary has made our list. We have spent endless summers on this rooftop (before we cheated on it and got a SH membership) and the views and vibes here are super chill all year round. Find us under the blankets and heaters in the colder months sipping down a whispering angel - basic and we love it.

8 at The Londoner

On the 8th floor of The Londoner is a cool informal style of a Japanese drinking establishment. Drink innovative signature cocktails and fine Japanese spirits in the low seating lounges on the outdoor terrace with panoramic London views or enjoy a cosy evening in the chic and minimalist Shima Garden.

A semi-secret rooftop and somewhat hidden gem with absolutely stunning panoramic views over the London skyline. This roof terrace is actually large and quite chic and the vibe is calmer than most places but it is a classic hotel bar so that’s to be expected. It’s definitely the place to go if you want the views but also a conversation.

Housed in a 1920's Art Deco building, serving up a new(ish) vantage point to soak in the skyline is this 10th floor rooftop terrace & bar with 360° views of the central London. The setting is super chic and contemporary, with resident DJ evenings that are the perfect excuse to stay and relax until the early hours.

On the top floor of the Market Peckham, Forza Wine is a stylish laid-back rooftop bar & restaurant complete with an interior cube-shaped restaurant, floor-to-ceiling windows and a spacious and sleek outdoor terrace so the panoramic skyline views of London are available year round. Definitely sample their wine menu because you know we love a natural wine and their selection was on point.

This central London rooftop is a beauty. Enter 180 Strand and head directly to the roof for poolside cocktails, 360-degree views and a vibrant social scene. Sunset views from the outdoor terrace here in the summer are unmatched. We think it’s just something about the pool vibes that really give this spot the wow factor. The top floor also has a ‘70s style restaurant encased in a glass box with floor-to-ceiling windows, so you can take in the views here all year round.

Right in the heart of the city, The Rooftop is perfect to sip on alfresco crafted cocktails and watch the busy city below. It’s definitely a more sophisticated crowd than most places but that fits the tone of the hotel. The skyline views here have all the landmarks and if you can also catch a sunset here, it really is beautiful. This rooftop is lauded as one of the best in the city and we agree.

Found in Hackney, Netil360  is the OG of Londons’ rooftop bars. The spacious terrace is way less put together than other rooftops and gives a ‘home-crafted' kind of feel but we think that’s what makes it cool - plus it comes surrounded with a pretty impressive view across London. The rooftop bar offers cocktails and wine from all over the world, and check out their Sushi rooftop restaurant with dishes inspired by the Japanese dining culture of izakaya to add a little culture to your visit.

Giving 1970’s Hollywood, The Mondrian in Shoreditch serves up a slice of California through its interiors, food and a cool restaurant-slash-pool hideout. This space offers Londoners a rooftop oasis to venture to every summer.

Kind of like a giant conservatory meets cool airport terminal. Head up the top floor to be met with an indoor landscaped garden, sprawling bar and breath taking panoramic views of London.  If this is super busy (as it often is), an alternative that is just around the corner is The Garden at 120 Fenchurch Street - cooler, quieter vibes.

Head to Level 33 of The Shard to drink a glass of champagne with a side of the most breathtaking panoramic views in London. Hutong is undeniably chic, where ancient aesthetics meet a contemporary building complete with dim lighting and mirrored ceilings - we think James Bond would drink here. The three-storey inter-level cocktail bar allows you to pass from floor to floor, drink in hand - with ease (when you’re sober). Hutong is the perfect setting for romantic dates or catching up with friends.
